I’m very excited that BasicGov was elected to be among the Force.com’s Final 40 partner showcase!

In June this year, David and I travelled down to San Francisco from our offices in Vancouver to present a demo of our BasicGov product for local governments. We chose to demo our permits and inspections software module and show how municipalities can quickly find information by looking up a parcel (location), automatically calculate permit fees and generate reports.

This was Salesforce.com‘s first round of participants. It was fascinating to see other demonstrations and to be a part of the cloud computing movement as it grows and gains more adoption in all sorts of industries and applications.

I was impressed with the variety of applications that have leveraged the platform. It has shown the versatility of Salesforce. Apptus had a very interesting application for managing contract content dynamically. And ThinkTechLabs made a real estate application complete with assessor data and housing sale data enmeshed into one for real estate agents. Enbase from Texas had a service offering for the drilling companies to manage the land, leases, and procurement through a complex workflow process.

Since then we’ve been selected to Force.com’s Final 40 Partner showcase and will be part of the voting on the IdeaExchange beginning November 2. Voting results are then announced at Salesforce.com’s Dreamforce ’09 cloud computing event November 17-20 in San Francisco.

When we were deciding which platform to build our software on, we researched several options and chose Salesforce.com’s cloud computing platform. The Force.com cloud-computing platform makes sure our customers have reliable access and best-in-class security.
