Continuing 7 Question & Answer Blog Series: When evaluating SaaS and cloud computing for your government agency …

#5. Is this web-based software, SaaS application high performance?

SaaS vendors must deliver consistent, high-speed system performance with detailed historical statistics to back up any performance claims. When you evaluate a SaaS solution look for performance data that demonstrates:

  • Average transaction processing speed
  • Average number of transactions supported
  • Web page delivery times
  • Average query response times

Once you have that data, compare it to the other solutions you are evaluating whether they are hosted or web based.

BasicGov web-based / SaaS modules are developed and hosted on Salesforce.com cloud platform Force.com which has real-time transparent system status. For more information about Force.com go to http://www.salesforce.com/platform/cloud-infrastructure/transparency.jsp
