Hurricane Preparedness: How Web-based Software Can Help

With hurricane season approaching now is the time to learn how web-based software can help local government agencies better manage in the aftermath of a hurricane or other natural disasters.

With web-based software not only will cities’ important data be protected but community development departments can get back up and running immediately from any location with only a computer and Internet connection.

For example, Mississippi cities Ocean Springs and City of Gautier are both using BasicGov.  The City of Ocean Springs’ Community Development & Planning Department saw a significant increase in permits and inspections volume as a result of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.  To keep up with the demand they turned to software and implemented BasicGov Permits & Inspections. In less than two months the Building Clerks were up and running on the new system.
