Mike Togyi
President and CEO

Whether it’s on the ice or in the office, Mike is a team player – his humble leadership sets the tone for the culture at BasicGov.  Mike’s interest in government started at an early age: growing up in Fort St. James where his dad was the mayor. Mike’s education in business and his passion for technology eventually landed him as CEO at BasicGov where he helped take the company from it’s start-up phase to the established, successful company it is today. Mike lives in Vancouver where he enjoys being outdoors, being on skates and spending time with family.

Nicki Decloux
VP, Customer For Life

Nicki is an implementation expert with 20+ years in the technology industry. She has been working on the Salesforce.com platform since 2004. Nicki has filled the role of Business Analyst, Solution Architect, Client Engagement Manager, Executive Sponsor and Support Escalation Specialist in addition to being the hands-on configuration lead on several of BasicGov’s largest implementations. Whether it’s regulating state elevators or code enforcement and permitting in a major city, Nicki is passionate about using our product and teaching others to use BasicGov.

James Wikkerink
Chief Technology Officer

James helped start BasicGov, and now runs the R&D team as CTO. He has over 18+ years in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise applications for government applying the platform-within-a-platform approach. He currently provides business and technical analysis for cloud services, mobile apps and portals on the platform. As a founder, James is committed to leveraging the latest cloud technology to best serve citizens and to make government accountable, transparent, and fast. In his spare time he enjoys kayaking, photography, and being a new dad.

John Brown
VP Operations

John started with BasicGov in 2014 and began building out the systems that keep the company scalable, accountable, and informed. He brings more than 25 years of experience working in technology. Partner Operations, Finance and HR are all on John’s team. When not working closely with Operations and Leadership teams, John enjoys coaching sports teams for his three kids and spending summer holidays on an inner-tube, in the sunshine, floating on a lake.

Sarah Markwick
HR Consultant

Sarah has been a part of the team since 2014 and brings with her 15 years of diverse HR experience. She helps us with everything to do with creating a great place to work. With her guidance, we develop our people and learn how to scale with them. When not working, Sarah enjoys writing and spending time with family, and captains her ice hockey team. She has yet to meet Mike on the ice.

Martin Salim
Technical Product Manager

In 2014, Martin started with BasicGov as a Business Analyst. Today, Martin is our Technical Product Manager. Martin has a Management of Technology MBA from Simon Fraser University, and has over 10 years of experience working in the technology industry. His expertise and understanding of high volume transactional data has allowed BasicGov to build solutions that are currently billing out more than $150M annually for local and state governments. Martin is a foodie that enjoys good quality food. That’s why we trust him to deliver our Friday morning breakfasts.

Ryan Supeene
Senior Manager, Partner Operations and Projects

Since Ryan started in 2016 he has overseen the building out of our partner operations model. Ryan works with development, technical services, operations and the partners themselves to create the tools and metrics that we rely on to ensure we are serving our partners well. He is passionate and dedicated. When not at work, Ryan is definitely doing something. Hiking, climbing, mentoring, camping, & bartending. Believe me, being immobile after knee surgery equaled unhappiness for Ryan. But he’s all good now.

Development Manager

Oliver is the newest member of the Leadership Team having just started with BasicGov in 2017. Oliver is experienced at building teams and leading development on the Salesforce platform – which he has done for over five years. He also brings another nine years of senior developer experience from his SAP days. When not working, Oliver is spending time with his family, cheering for Arsenal, or dreaming of winning a sailing race by a narrow margin.  

Veronica Deluna
QA and Release Manager

Veronica joined the team in 2016, and is a big part of upholding our core value of excellence. Since coming on board, she has made an immediate impact to our Quality Assurance processes and best practices by leveraging her experience in the software industry. Veronica began her career working for Electronic Arts, and has since then honed her QA and test skills in a variety of industries such as mobile development, retail, and electronic healthcare. When not working, Veronica enjoys spending time with family and travelling.

Jennifer Thompson
Senior Manager, Marketing and Proposals

Jenn quickly found success managing proposal development in a newly created Sales & Marketing role. It wasn’t long before we couldn’t imagine life without her. She has 10+ years experience writing and editing copy in the Financial Services, Government, Manufacturing, and Technology industries in Canada, US, and UK. Although her main focus is proposal management, Jennifer also manages our marketing team. Away from work, Jenn spends time with her family, chasing Lyle (their English Bulldog puppy), and running to some awesome music.

Debbie Tarantino
Client Engagement Manager / Business Analyst

Debbie joined BasicGov in 2014, bringing her 20 years of BA experience to the team. She made an immediate impact to our largest state project for a Regulated Objects solution. Within 6 months, Debbie became the primary BasicGov resource on the project, managing all client interactions as well as the approach to the solution itself. Debbie’s product knowledge and her client management and analysis skills are the right combination to ensure that the solutions delivered to our clients meets their needs and expectations.

Roger Bassam
Director of Business Development

Roger works closely with Mike on our Sales team. Roger has a diverse business background that allows him to understand unique business needs. He is currently a Councilman in North Vancouver District – an elected position he has held for 9 years. He has held several committee positions including Metro Vancouver’s Zero Waste Committee, North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, and North Vancouver Sports Advisory Council. In his downtime, Roger hangs out with his family, or out on the pitch where he is playing his 42nd year of soccer!
